May 31st, 2009 --

Greetings to everyone!

Hope everyone is pain free today and more days to come.

I am a mixed media artist and would like to build a work project of canvas, MRI films and zippers. Please send me your zippers as I am intending to build a "quilt" of connected zippers to cover the painting/mixed media project dedicated to all Chiarians and the family members/friends/ doctors that support Chiari and it's needed research.

Upon completion of the painting, I would like to start a process by which we send the painting around to various Chiari Support Groups for viewing and to raise awareness... perhaps even to display as Neurosurgery Clinics...

I would prefer your zippers be used from an article of clothing that you are going to discard...just cut the zipper out and mail it to me. If you wish to sign your zipper on the outside feel free to do so with a "sharpie" permanent marker pen.

If you are interested in participating, please email me at:  crey777@sbcglobal.net

In Louisiana, I had 13 works exhibited in Juried Exhibitions and those works were pertaining to medical...When my son was diagnosed with Chiari in 2005 it was right before we were evacuated by Hurricane Rita...since that time I have been working on my Chiari Man series dedicated to my son...this piece entitled "Tired, Pained and Zippered" is dedicated to all that battle Chiari...won' t you please help with this small step toward awareness?

Images can be used also as long as you agree to sign a release if it shows identifying faces....God Bless and may you reach freedom.

Thank you!
