September 30, 2008 -- The Southern Ohio walk was a success. We had walkers attending all the way from the Ohio-Michigan border to all the way down to Florence Ky. We were able to obtain fourteen businesses that corresponded as Business Sponsors and six others to donate goods. We had several people donate the last remaining items we needed to insure the walk thrived. We were able to provide many walkers with a door prize. Each participant received a purple ribbon charm, Conquer Chiari’s tri-fold brochure, and numerous other items in their bags. A suggested information list with of organizations, nonprofits, support groups, and informational sites we also handed out. A five-page CM/SM informational packet from the Mayfield Clinic was given to all participants, which included several of pictures and including a basis on surgery. A huge thank you two the women that helped me organize the Southern Ohio walk, Cheryl Fetterly and Callie Burgett. Thank you to all those helped out during the walk and especially those who came to participate in the Southern Ohio Walk! United We Stand, Chiari We Conquer! -- Merideth Rought
