My son Jack, age 7, is the middle child.

His older brother Kent, age 9, has a genius I.Q. and boy does he know it.  Being a typical older brother he is always telling his younger brother that he is an “idiot” and that “he doesn’t have a brain.”

Jack had a lot of neurological and learning problems that made him start to believe his brother.  We finally begged his developmental pediatrician to send him for an MRI and he was diagnosed with a Chiari 1 Malformation.

We took him to a neurosurgeon who showed him his brain and explained to him that he did not have enough room in his head and they would have to create more space.

Well as soon as we got home he burst through the door and announced to his brother, “Hey Kent guess what?  Not only do I have a brain but it’s so big it doesn’t even fit in my head!”
